Beauty is the eternal inspiration behind all Art and creativity through the centuries.

Beauty is the eternal inspiration behind all Art and creativity through the centuries.

Only in this modern age do we see the betrayal of this essential quality in the ugliness and distortion that is valued and promoted in commercial art galleries and trendy circles.

Once all the arts were dedicated to a sublime ideal and this was the responsibility of the role of artist – to give others a touch of the joy, inspiration and the rich content of a perception of realism that could bring the viewer to a greater understanding of life.

Visual art has now deteriorated to become sheer license to produce rubbish. Often it is untrained and unskilled artisans of paint and brush who are acclaimed by “experts”. Trendy artists are fawned upon by the populace who are wooed into a falsity of attitude and who betray their own talent and intelligence by foisting inferior efforts upon a gullible public – as Picasso himself had once confessed. There is no integrity is seems in those of the fashionable art world if they would leave the intelligent public dismayed and deprived of the beauty that is expected.

Beauty is the supreme value and the artist who can express this quality through his creation, regardless of the subject of the work, is truly successful.

Extract beauty from art and there is little to offer members of the public who visit a gallery to be uplifted as happens with exhibitions of the great classical artists of previous centuries. Their works endure and entice millions of people to view their handiwork that perennially is capable of expressing the beauty and quality of the artist’s unique message.

Modern artists are not motivated to offer such soul satisfaction. Both artists and art dealers instead choose to be well focussed upon dollar value and so called investment opportunities. They choose and are encouraged to select dark themes and colours, visions of cruelty or mind disturbances that if an expert psychologist would be called in to evaluate the work, it is likely to be classed as the expression of a mentally deranged person.

In the midst of these trends that are now firmly established, the works of traditional artists of quality languish in the backwaters of private homes, country markets and local regional galleries.

Inferior quality painting and decoration is one of the serious symptoms of mental disease in our community. Our minds should aspire to beauty; we should be hungry for it. We seem to have lost our appetite for beauty and in doing so display a fatal state of consciousness from which there is no possible short term remedy.

Art should play its part in our culture by uplifting and inspiring people to greatness by sensitising us to the energies and the beauties of Nature.

By yielding to the trendy ugly fashion that dominates the art world of today we are betraying art and the genuine artists who are capable of contributing visions of loveliness light and beauty – for our soul’s nourishment.

In the past decades in spite of many social improvements and obvious progress in welfare in Australia we have also witnessed many aspects of destruction of our cultural base.

In the past decades in spite of many social improvements and obvious progress in welfare in this country we have also witnessed many aspects of destruction of our cultural base.

It seems that nothing sacred has been omitted from attempts to erode or destroy its fabric – from democratic principles, our Christian way of life, moral codes, national pride, art, literature, music, education, our English language and meaning of many words, family life, political integrity, respect for the elderly and honouring our heroes. Even knowledge of the contribution made by the founding statesmen and philanthropists and idealistic free settlers has been discouraged by biased accent upon the miseries and injustices of the criminal or convict population.

The most obvious tools of cultural destruction are used to distort values; to ridicule virtue and morals; to twist the meaning of words in the language; to hold out that disciplines are dangerous; to play upon human weaknesses; and to control the educational and mass media outlets which influence the next generation and deprive them of the memory of their cultural inheritance.

Stalin deliberately employed tactics to destroy the free world. These aimed upon one hand to destroy the classical structure of thought and culture and on the other, to encourage all the destructive agents to proliferate in each society – namely drugs, alcohol, sexual perversion, and violence of all kinds from music and dance to art and literature, film and human behaviour.

We have witnessed the chaos resulting from these endeavours which need not have happened had each country honoured their beliefs, their cultural customs, their religion, their family values and not been hypnotised into believing that the “new” is better. This is most obvious in the young, whose youthful desires and weakness in wanting to share with their peers made them vulnerable to allow jeans, coca cola, gum chewing, drugs, rock music, disrespect for their elders and other habits to flourish and in a couple generations, sweep the world.

There is no area which did not experience a violation of its territory including the sanctity of the church and the sanctity of family life.

The family unit is representative of the greater unit of humanity – but in miniature.

Within the family unit, each member has a role to play. Each functions in a stable pattern, each is free to evolve and plant his own fate and future, the individual does not deny his home security as his starting point and springboard he uses to enter the greater world and will in turn contribute and found in turn, his own family and circumstances. These will be entirely to his own choosing and he will be free to better those conditions which he himself inherited.

Our family life is failing – with hardly any family existing as an integrated unit, broken homes being now predominant. And this is creating a serious problem with grandparents having no place and being rejected, are unable to play their role by offering a wiser, more mature wisdom and influence.

Is there any aspect of our culture, which we feel proud of, and is growing up, and not down in its quality?

Those of us who are privileged to live freely in democratic countries enjoy our present freedom and well being that tends to smother our sensitivity to wider realities of human existence elsewhere. Our freedom is wealth taken for granted and it seems natural to us that we should have the right to employ our free will as an individual in making choices, although many of our choices may be ill advised or self centred. We know the luxury of living as free souls in this present era.

Whereas most of us have been tutored in history to know that it has not always been so and if we consider reincarnation as a possible reality, we ourselves will have experienced what it is like to be bartered and sold in slavery to cruel masters and have been guilty of abusing slaves ourselves when slavery was accepted as an inevitable part of human society in the past. It has been calculated that 13,000,000 million were traded as slaves in previous centuries.

We would like to think that laws abolishing slavery in western countries made an end to the practice of slavery. However, researchers who have been more aware and have sought out the facts are now shocking us into taking stock of the true situation.

Independent assessment by the Free the Slaves organization produced figures in the year 2000 that showed 27,000,000 human beings throughout the world are presently enslaved. The United Nations in 2005 confirmed this statistic – now double what it was in ancient times. This is a fact very difficult to grasp, unless of course you are one of the millions directly involved and suffering exploitation and deprivation of liberty of any kind and to whom the information provides no relief.

How has this situation developed, and how can we alter it?

It is a most uncomfortable realization that poverty of one person can lead to abuses by others and it is the extent of the dreadful example of child sex abuse in brothels that may first shock us out of our apathy. Poverty is believed to be a fundamental negative that can cause desperation to lead parents to deny care and to make slaves of their children or sell them to industry, mining and even for prostitution.

But we must consider the many aspects of slavery known to exist and the circumstances that allow them to exist. Increasing number of illegal immigrants are in circumstances that make them vulnerable to exploitation of different kinds as they are trapped by exchanging oppression in one country for untenable conditions in another. We hear of individual cases often enough – of people kidnapped for working in services without reward as domestics or in criminal activity- of girls enticed by work opportunities to countries where they are forced into prostitution as sex slaves. We tend to think of these as isolated cases, tragic as they are. Little do we think that greedy traders in human cargo seeking only dollar profit, are exposing millions of needy human beings of all ages to the immoral exploits of commerce, industry or to the personal perversions and addictions of our era.

We can only acknowledge and feel the shame that on our planet, slavery still exists.

RESEARCH INTO NEW ENERGY SOURCES INCLUDES MAGNESIUM.

Magnesium is highly reactive and stores a lot of energy. Researchers are now turning attention to devising ways to extract energy from magnesium.

Some scientists have been reported to have the opinion that there is enough magnesium to meet the world’s energy needs for the next thousand years.

Although the mineral magnesium is abundant, its production is more difficult to feel confident of supply. The techniques for extraction vary with the most common being either electrolytic processes or extreme high temperature method.

The latter method had been claimed as developed by Dr. Takashi Yabe of the Tokyo Institute of Technology.

Yabe who uses concentrated solar collectors and a solar-pump laser method that can arrive at over 3,000 degrees centigrade. This is the method devised to burn magnesium oxide extracted from seawater.

Another method is a magnesium based version of the lithium-ion rechargeable cell claimed by Dr. Doron Aurbach at Bar-Ilan University n Israel.

A metal-air cell that uses water and ambient air to react with a magnesium anode is used to generate electricity as reported by engineers at MagPower where some intensive experimentation is being carried out. They have found that the capabilities of magnesium-air fuel cells possess electrolyte versatility using common saline solution or seawater in conjunction with their hydrogen inhibitors.

Hydrogen inhibitors have increased effectiveness of this method that can result in reducing metal-air fuel cells and batteries.

It appears that there are some very promising avenues of research along lines that have the potential for success in providing alternative fuel sources for the future.

water - prime need for life in plants and humans.

For several decades it has been known and demonstrated that the qualities of water are such as to be responsive to external influences and vibrations including human thought and emotion.

Delawarr Laboratories in Oxford, England offered first practical demonstrations to show this in the processes of natural germination and growth of seeds and plant life. That was over fifty years ago.

Similar practical experiments such as the effect of positive and negative thoughts upon germination of seed and plant growth have been more recently replicated and extended by Dr Masaru Emoto of the IHM General Research Institute in conjunction with others demonstrating that subtle energies, including thought, can affect and even alter states of physical matter.

However it was the publication of a book in 1973 that opened our eyes to the need to further understand the relationship between humans and plant life. The authors of “The Secret Life of Plants” Tompkins and Bird showed the biological and symbiotic relationships and responses between people and plants leading us to a new awareness and a new sense of responsibility to the plant kingdom. The authors broke new ground in offered to readers an entirely new dimension to their understanding of the surprising sentient intelligence capacity of organic life in plants.

The concept of plants having intelligence is not new as observed in the fairy and elfin tales and folklore of most cultures of the world. These remind us of invisible life energy that directs and inhabits material form, as does the human soul the physical body. In previous times humans have been more sensitive and aware of the subtler invisible forces of nature to which the modern psyche is not generally responsive, being calloused by materialism and fascinated by the visual world.

Earlier recognition of the mystical side of the water element upon which life depends on our earth was evident and is still retained in much folklore throughout the world. There are depictions of water in the guise of cosmic space; as gods that bless us with rain; flowing in rivers and life fluids; angelic transmitters of healing energies that refresh and soothe our strained emotions; as beings that live a parallel existence in the watery depths of the ocean, or in rivers and lakes portrayed as the fairy spirits or undines.

To fully understand the element water we must learn to focus upon its values and qualities, upon our utter dependence upon it, and to permeate our investigations with the respect that is natural when exploring this great element that blesses our planet.

From pagan thought to modern scientific insight we seek to understand in order that we can best apply what wisdom we glean.

More recently Dr Emoto’s premise is that all life is vibrating at varying wave lengths and frequencies throughout the universe. This ‘hado’ or vibrating energy establishes fields of magnetic resonance generated by electrons that orbit the nucleus of an atom. This he explains in detail in his books “Prelude to the Hado Era”, “Studies of the Human through Hado” and “Messages from Water”. It is the last work that is our present interest.

Dr Emoto in his demonstrations applied to water are astonishing. He has been able to capture the changes in the molecules of water by a unique photographic method that produces images of frozen water samples that form different and beautiful organized patterns and forms under positive harmonic influences of music compared with the dispersed or chaotic images in response to heavy discordant sounds. Some of the beautiful crystalline patterns are exquisite and somewhat similar to nature’s snowflake designs that offer both simple and intricate designs and basically hexagonal in structure.

Dr Emoto and his work has attracted criticism and there are many efforts by pseudo-scientists more focussed upon resistance to new information than enthusiastic to explore the validity of a simple principle that could be applied to open new avenues in understanding and employing the mysterious energies of nature for betterment of humans and well being of our planet. We await scientific evidence to confound or confirm its value in bridging the gap between physics and metaphysics.

Exploration into the subtle or invisible forces of nature has always met with resistance by those who do not care to be disturbed in the comfort of what they think they know as a truth. We choose to be disturbed or inspired by any ‘new’ development that is required to expand our knowledge. But it is difficult to understand why we should not all be open to any philosophy and method that teaches us a simple hint as to how to increase beauty, harmony and maintain emotional and physical health by knowledge of the vital element of nature that comprises about 70% of our physical body and perhaps 90% of our emotional nature.

As always with a new line of enquiry into nature or a new approach to a subject, there is resistance by established scientific body as well as by individual scientists.

But to many of us there is an intuitional reaction that welcomes Dr Emoto’s work that expands our comprehension, if only minutely, of the wonders of the natural elements around and within us and increases our appreciation of the beauties of water, in particular.

The subject of marriage between two people of the same sex has become a focus of political and philosophical disturbance and debate in many countries - countries where enjoying freedom has eroded a sense of morals and allowed tolerance to grow into licence for wrongdoing.

Those who are psychologically uncertain as to their own sexual identity have lost perception about sex as they have as to what discrimination means. They neglect the physical anatomical evidence that Nature has given them and in 99% of cases there is no doubt! Nature gives us the equipment related to our sexual polarization. Our culture presents pointers as to how to express our nature.

Insecurity generally leads to attack. In this issue the problems and issues of the few have been exaggerated and allowed to grow to the point where Nature is itself under attack. As our history demonstrates, when the fundamental partnership of opposite sexes is disregarded and homosexual relationships accepted in society the fabric of a civilization crumbles.

We observe the privileges of freedom becoming abused and perverted into licence and permissiveness that will destroy family life as we know it should further tolerance of homosexual partnerships be further accepted as lawful marriages.

There are already examples of some of the ridiculous and complex ramifications of unions of this kind. All arguments result in negative conclusions as wrongs cannot be proven rights unless we sacrifice our integrity. Social issues extend beyond any personal choices when suggested changes challenge what is natural and moral.

Australians as a nation are thought as easy going and tolerant to a fault. In decisions that are arising in our governments we are giving indication of our immaturity and lack of foresight. On the current focus suggesting homosexual marriages are to be made legal and equal in family law we are not displaying admirable courage enough to demonstrate total rejection of these issues that destroy family life and current values.

The challenge of the vociferous minority who have been persuaded in a cause that permits two men to adopt male children or two women to adopt girl children is an offensive and ridiculous, whether society accepts their private relationships or not.

Only responsible people are fit to make changes that offer improvements.

We must realise the risks and threats associated with the suggested changes in marriage law and rather protect children from a course that has the potential to create chaos in all aspects of personal and family life.

Volcano in Indonesia, a threat Tambora, others also

Are you aware that recently on 9th September 2011 Tambora Volcano in Indonesia was placed on a near maximum alert. An exclusion zone is placed around it, limiting anyone going within 3km of the volcano. There is little known of Tambora outside Indonesia. Many are unaware of the threat that it is to the local and wider environment and population.

For instance – did you know that….

Tambora is one of the most active volcanoes in the world. In 1815 it was responsible for 92,000 deaths cause by a huge eruption that was so as to affect global temperatures and cause climate irregularities as far as Europe and caused crop failures in nearby countries such as India as the cloud from the eruption dropped temperatures . This eruption was believed to be one of the earth’s largest explosive events in the past 10,000 years.

The amount of magma erupted from the volcano was assessed at about 100 cubic km.

Thousands of deaths were instant from the pyroclastic flows but as the full repercussion of the event became known it was seen to have affected as many as 117,000 through starvation and disease as well as by the tsunami that followed with a wave height of 10m.

Tambora’s cone was diminished in height by over 1200 m by the eruption, changing its shape in a similar manner as the Mount St Helens event in the U.S.

Since that time Tambora has remained less active or even in dormancy but an eruption in 1967 was a reminder of its power.

In 2004 excavation revealed a whole town that had been previously buried near the volcano

In 2009 in November an earthquake of 6.7 struck east of Tambora.

In 2010 in May a magnitude earthquake of 6.1 struck nearby followed by a considerable aftershock of 5.1.

In 2011 April there were 37 shallow volcanic earthquakes recorded

May there followed 167 volcanic earthquakes

June there were 277 volcanic earthquakes

July there were increasing to 363 in number

August there were 141volcanic earthquakes with a continuous tremor

Why should we not consider the immediate potential hazard and threat from Tambora?

water provided by rain, quality of rainwater,

Rainwater – what is its typical composition, we wonder, when we instinctively rate it so much higher than the groundwater upon which we reply in our cities and suburban areas.

Dr Kenneth Rubin, Associate Professor in the Department of Geology and Geophysics at the University of Hawaii helps to satisfy our curiosity.

He tells us that the particles that are dissolved in the upper troposphere provide the first source for water droplets to form before they engage in the process of dissolving gasses from the atmosphere.

As our atmosphere is extremely variable because of regional conditions such as salt content in near coastal areas or the more obvious pollutant factors related to industry, aircraft and others, the quality of rainwater is affected by human activity as well as the forces of wind and climate.

Climatic conditions can affect the solute concentrations in rainwater. Specimens taken from a range of environments demonstrate the fact that there cannot be one general statement about the quality of the water that falls from the sky into our rainwater tanks.

Dr Rubin advises reference to the book “Global environment: water air and geochemical cycles” by Berner and Berner (Prentice-Hall, 1996) for further information.

The search for the most satisfactory way of providing the power we demand for continuance of our modern luxury demands is universal. That is, all but the poorer countries that have not the resources or perhaps have not chosen to follow the materialistic values of current trends and so remain free of the frantic attention to energy needs. Energy needs such as western countries demand are not relevant in the simpler countries where a more natural lifestyle remains, although this is gradually changing.

Those who are alert to the problem that affects our civilization are naturally concerned and share the sense of responsibility that requires correction of the situation that is complex and must include not only the supply of fuel to satisfy demand, but the adjustment of lifestyle that modifies excessive demands. Also needed is a shift in philosophic outlook that places simplicity as the desired quality desired in attainment of human culture that has no place for greed.

Just as it is a ready admission in intellectual circles that we are entangled in too great an abundance of information, news, ideologies and exaggerated discussion without sufficient prior consideration – an information explosion that threatens to drown out individual and independent thought, so we are wallowing in materialistic habits, forgetful of deeper issues.

There are many reasons we are looking towards alternative energy sources. With many countries urging reduction of pollutants and greenhouse gases we are all realizing that we must work together to save our planet from collapse of life structure, both cultural and natural ecological.

As long as we seek to continue on a lifestyle that demands more and more, even excessive technological skills to the detriment of our inner lives we will continue to see our world degraded from the ideal. We are choosing to move further and further away from a co-operative and harmonious relationship with the natural world around us. Instead of seeing ourselves as custodians of other creatures many are aggressively seeking to challenge nature.

As long as we remain demanding in our goal to use power to fuel our electrical, technological, travel and communication desires that require IT we will continue to seek to satisfy a seemingly insatiable appetite for more and more energy.

Our natural reserves that we are currently drawing upon in overdraft mode are beyond any consideration of being able to replenish and repay the debt to nature’s sources and material reserves. We are making ourselves bankrupt and our planet polluted beyond repair through a lack of life purpose and clear vision of the heaven that we could build on earth, should we choose wisely.

We are not able to do much about this demise of our civilization but to witness what is occurring with sad hearts and minds. This is suffered by all those who have been fortunate to have tasted a more contented and peaceful way of life as they understandably observe the present material greed and violence as a downgrading of human culture.

But we must try to do something to counter balance what is happening and thereby be able to feel satisfied that we have contributed a droplet of positive quality to life and be true to ourselves. We all have something to say that is of value to others. We each have some special skill. But have we used our talents to help make the world a better place?

There is little time to make adjustments in our habits and offerings to the community and to life in general. But if we start today, we can move toward a tomorrow and a tomorrow that promises peace and loving kindness as a growing power that is greater than the confusion of a tangled mind.

It is always considered as wise to allow that if ever there is argument between the head and the heart, we should choose the guidance of our hearts as it is within our deepest heartfelt feelings that we are free of a confusion of ideas – we know.

If we are to choose ways that will preserve the natural ecological balance of life on our Earth and reduce fossil fuels we must carefully consider and also to trial, all types of alternative energy sources. We urgently need to determine answers now.

Alternative energy from other natural sources such as wind, tides, geothermal and solar show significant promise. Not only are toxins associated with previous methods of manufacturing power reduced but there can be positive benefits to the environment.

“THE advent and development of cyberspace is revolutionising our everyday lives. This may become a global challenge and require a global, co-ordinated response. Until now, however, the debate around what form this response should take has been fragmented and lacked focus.

This must change. More international consensus is urgently needed. And this needs to be a collective endeavour, involving the major players in cyberspace.

That is why I have invited representatives not just from governments, but also from civil society and business, to attend the London Conference on Cyberspace next month.”

William Hague, British Foreign Secretary.

Concepts about cyberspace in the public perception are somewhat confused. Over-riding any more profound thought of the consequences of this new technical innovation in the public mind is the pleasure it offers by its speed of communication. We begin to become totally reliant upon the Web.

However we are more and more aware of its limitations in confining activities to constructive purposes. Cybercrime is increasing; privacy is threatened; materials used are becoming an environmental negative and more importantly we now realize that there is no ultimate authority to refer to for any checks and balances about legal, political, ethical and moral issues.

By devising such a seemingly progressive technology attendant to what is presumably and idealistic concept of a united world in the best sense of globalization, there are many factors coming to haunt us.

The IT world of today has destructive issues as well as benefits that are motivating international efforts to resolve problems.
