Freedom

Freedom is what is valued in the life of every individual.  It will mean different things to different people in different circumstances. However, there are common principles and references that allow us to share the ideals of civilization.

We all find freedom within the circle of restraints that pertain – geographically, socially, culturally, ideologically and nationally and now internationally.

We value our personal freedom as we value our freedom that is seen to extend to our whole planet where we live as earthlings.

Freedom has had to be won through the long saga of history and our evolution as a human race. It has always been associated with fighting for our freedom rather than primary concern to estabish it.

We are wise enough to know that any freedom has a potential to affect others and herein we find we cannot escape the fact of our common brotherhood and unity.

Sacrifice of some kind is required of us all. It is a natural event in every kingdom of nature and we are not excluded. Relentlessly we have to face decisions in our life between a path we have impulse to follow, and the responsibilities that must modify our choices. We are governed by nature’s gift to us of free will. We must acknowledge any possible repercussions from any action.

But freedom is an experience rather than just an idea.  We find it has more meaning when we pass our own test as to whether our considered freedom and actions will give harm to others.

If not, we certainly are free to use our intelligence and talents as we will.
