Lakes on Saturn’s Moon Titan

NASA’s Cassini’s spacecraft has confirmed the existence of liquid on the surface of one of Saturn’s moons, Titan.

Although it has been thought that Titan has other lakes on its surface, consisting of methane and ethane, this is the first photographic evidence that the theories are correct.

The lake is known as Kraken Mare and covers about 150,000 square miles making it larger than the Caspian Sea on our Earth.

The stored carbon and hydrogen atoms in this lake interest those who believe that there is a possibility that it could support some form of life.

This discovery excites astronomers and scientists the world over and stirs the imagination of us all.
