Natural Healing

Humans and animals have used the healing powers abounding in nature in order to rectify health problems and correct physical damage to the body.

We have advanced further than sheer physical relief to also seek in the same avenues of nature for remedies for our psychological and mental problems that limit our joy in living and deprive us of the spiritual experiences or highlights of every person’s life.

We know not to neglect what the body needs to build and maintain physical health and are familiar with the disciples that we should follow.

There are corresponding needs we must obey in order to build and maintain our emotional selves  but we may be less conscious of what these needs and disciplines are. As we learn to identify our need to keep our feelings relaxed and generous as well as firm and become aware of the guidelines to manage our moods and set the stage for happiness we become more confident. We know that we can overcome emotional issues and traumas with the help of friends if we can allow time and nature to heal our hearts as it does our bodies.

Our minds are more complex and require special care, not only in maintaining a presiding positive mental attitude but to entertain thoughts of good quality that help us to live well. Most important is to find a subject of real interest and become creative in so area so that our own creative thought is provided with opportunity for its daily exercise.

There is no one to look after our minds for us as we are ourselves at the controls and it is our decisions and our actions in cultivation of our mental nature that will most potentially affect the outcomes.

So when we look to natural healing of the body there are many popular and well known modalities used by natural therapists (those who do not recommend drugs) and practitioners. This is the sphere of physical therapy that helps prevent disease as well as offering simple and traditional remedies if we cannot deal with any issue ourselves.

Counsellors and psychologists offer assistance with our problems related to our emotional and mental conditions should we feel that they extend beyond the range of self care. This is also a natural way to heal psychological problems when we have need of a professional.

However, the principle of drugless methods must also apply in any natural therapy.

We should remember that the psychiatric profession that deals with serious mental conditions does prescribe drugs.
