Thoughts on Spirituality

Spiritual aspiration for many people is a desire for Goodness – a desire to be good, to do good and to have one’s life attuned to Universal Goodness.

Spirituality is also allied to Beauty& Harmony –a desire to be beautiful – to create beautiful things – to have one’s life Harmonious – and to seek and become attuned to Universal Beauty.

Spirit, if seen as being synonymous with Light, makes our minds seek the light of Truth – we have a desire to be truthful, to follow our principles of truth – to seek for Universal Truth.

The essence of all spiritual teachings and indeed spiritual experiences being Love, helps us focus upon this as the supreme quality to exercise in our lives. We may seek to be loving and kind, we long to be loved and our deepest yearning is to experience limitless love, Universal Love.

Since human beings proved capable of questioning their origins and seeking for answers about the Universal Spirit, the Creator, they have wished for understanding and illumination. Fortunately the path towards this goal is well trodden and we have many sages and saints to offer guidelines to help us, when we lose our way.

If we have grown beyond the stages of physical, emotional and mental exploration, it will naturally be that we tend to develop our spirituality in order to complete our full range of human experience.

If we believe that the ultimate Creative power behind all life is goodness we will one day know the reality of God as Great Beneficence.

If we feel that the ultimate quality of life is beauty, we will seek and one day find Beauty beyond compare.

If we feel that God is synonymous with peace and tranquillity we will want to experience the magnitude of Universal Peace.

And if Power is most dominant in our concept of the great Spirit behind the manifested Universe we can anticipate one day experiencing something of this power and grandeur.

If we have faith in Love as the ultimate human experience, we can only grow to know greater love as a Reality.

If we equate Spirit with Vitality, we will be inclined to express our spirituality in the joy of living and pour our energies enthusiastically into our life enterprises towards constructive outcomes for ourselves and for others.

Spirituality is seen by some people, as just that simple.
